FRIENDLY CRICKET MATCH
The annual friendly cricket match between the North Linwood Burgesses and the Ashbourne Cricket Club, which was played at Linwood Park, resulted in a draw, each scoring 105 runs. Batting for Ashbourne, Bennetts made 23, Bowden 10, Jenkins 17, B. Hawkings 17. Bowling for North Linwood Burgesses, Cooper took one for 13, Jenkins two for 20, Smith one for 17, B. Hawkings one for 13, Bennetts none for 23, and McPherson two for 1; extras 13. . Batting for North Linwood Burgesses. Egan made 40 retired, O’Reilly 31, ( R. Hawkings 10. Bowling for Ashbourne, R, Hawkings took five for 31, O’Reilly one for 24, Austin none for 10, Barrett one for 6, Egan three for 21.
