BRITISH LOSSES AT SEA

(Received April 8, 11 p.m.) ■ LONDON. April 8,

British losses at sea in the week ended March 31, which was the eighty-second week of the war, were 20 ships, totalling 77,000 tons. This was 17,000 tons and three ships more than in the eighty-first week, when the figures were a little below the average.

It is now announced that the figures for the eightieth week have increased from 94,000 tons to 146,000 tons. This is because seven ships which were overdue must now be considered lost.

The losses for the last three weeks are therefbre as follows: Eightieth week; 146,000 tons; eighty-first week, 60,000 tons; eighty-second week, 77,000 tons.
