SHIPPING NOTES The cessation of the rain yesterday enabled work to be carried out on the waterfront as usual and most of the vessels which had., been held up by the stormy weather took their departure. The Wainui is expected here to-morrow from the south. She la to load for Napier and Gisborne. The Breeze is due here to-day from Timaru and is to load for Wellington, Picton, and Wanganui. The Holmdale is now due here to-mor-row from the south. She is to take in cargo for Wellington and Wanganui. Rangatira Delayed The steamer express Rangatira did not arrive at Lyttelton from Wellington until 10 a.m. yesterday, having been delayed by a strong south-easterly gale.
