PREVENTION OF CRUELTY TO ANIMALS
Several cases of alleged cruelty to animals were reported at the monthly meeting of the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals by the inspector. Mr D. J. White, who stated that cautions had been issued. The woman superintendent of the Animal clinic in Chancery lane reported on a large number of cases of injured and sick animals treated during the month, and that the society’s new animal ambulance had been busy and attended to many cases of injured animals on the streets in addition to removing many cases to the animal home for further treatment. The lethal chamber incorporated in the ambulance, had already been used several times to destroy injured animals. It had proved very successful and exceedingly effective, destruction being absolutel} painless and very quick.
