Australian Poet Dead—The death has occurred of Mr Andrew Barton Paterson, familiarly known as “Banjo” Paterson, the journalist and poet, whose poems and ballads of Australian bush life made his name a household wort, throughout the Commonwealth. Mr Paterson, who was 76 years of age, was famous as the author of “The Man from Snowy River.’’—Sydney, Febru-ary-5.
