FLIES IN HAGLEY PARK
TO THE EDITOR OF THE PRESS. Sir,—l read with interest “AntiFly’s” letter in “The Press” dated February 5. I should like to protest against sheep in South Hagley Park. The park is in a filthy condition. Hydatids disease is at present prevalent in New Zealand, and in the doctors’ opinion it comes from sheep and dogs. Is It any wonder it has such a hold when children play and have their lunch in the park under such conditions? 1 suggest the health authorities take this matter up, and I am sure it will greatly assist the doctors to fight this terrible disease.—Yours, etc., HEALTH FIRST. February 6, 1941.
