LIGHT METALS
TO THE EDITOR OF THE PRESS. Sir,—l am a resident of North Christchurch and a strong supporter for establishing the light metal industry in the South Island. I note that Mr H. Holland opposes the idea. As father and son hold similar political ideas, a number' of my electorate friends are curious to know if Mr S. G. Holland, M.P., is also an opponent to the establishment of this industry. So far he has not expressed himself in public on this matter, and we trust he will do so at an early date. We hold that the industry is necessaay for the war, the post-war defence and as a means in post-war days to pay Britain our war debts in metals we can produce ■ cheaper than Britain herself.—Yours, etc., „ A OLIVER SAGE. February 6, 1941.
