The weather forecast for Canterbury, issued at 5 p.m. by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, and dealing with the 24 hours following the time of issue, is as follows: Wind moderate and variable with northerlles predominating at first. A change to strong southerly likely on Monday night or Tuesday morning. Weather dull and unsettled with rain at times; mild temperatures; moderate sea. WEST COAST The forecast for the West Coast is: Strong northerly winds to gales, / changing to southerlies later. Weather unsettled with intermiti tent rain and some heavy falls. Temperatures becoming cooler. Sea rough or very rough. DOMINION The forecast for the Dominion is: Weather/dull, mild and humid, with rain 'or drizzle at times In most districts, and some heavy (alls in Westland! A cyclonic disturbance centred off the West Coast of the South Island is moving towards the south-east.
