FARMER BURNED TO DEATH

(press association TELEGRAM.] THAMES, November 13. Walter Bernard Nash, a farmer, a married man. aged 40. was burnt to death in the engine-room of the cowshed on his property this morning. He and his wife left their house about 5.30 a.m, to do the milking. About 7 o’clock Nash went to the engine-room to turn on the separator. A few minutes later his wife, who was at the cowbails, heard her husband call out: “Turn the cows out, the place is on fire." His wife did so. By that time the whole engine-room was a mass of flames. Later the body was found in a sitting position terribly charred. The right hand was on the wheel of the separator as though in the act of trying to put the belt on. A small benzine tin was found burst open. It was within eight inches of Nash’s foot.
