♦ CONDITIONS OF OFFICIAL NOTIFICATION

WELLINGTON, September 21. In a statement yesterday, the Minister for defence (the Hon. F. Jones) said that unless a soldier was placed on the seriously or dangerously ill list, no notification was sent *to base records in New Zealand. Mr Jones made this explanation because it had occurred that relatives of soldiers had heard that men had been in hospital for various periods pf time, but had received no official notification of the fact
