THE WAR LOAN
* BASIS OF COMPULSORY PROVISION
The use of any compulsion in the raising of the coming war loan will be determined by the extent to which those able to do so have already contributed money for war purposes. This was indicated byJRe Minister for Finance, the Hon. w. Nash, in an interview. Particulars of the loan will be announced this week, the Minister stated. “The Finance Emergency Regulations, No. 2, authorised a loan lor war purposes,” he 'Said, “but any compulsory procedure will be applied only to the extent that individuals who_ were expected to contribute, according to income, have failed to do so.” The Minister was unable to announce any of the details of the loan as yet. “You will know all abou it this week,” he said.
