PILGRIMS QUARTERLY GATHERING
FIVE HUNDRED ATTEND MEETING
About 500 persons attended the quarterly gathering of the Canterbury Pilgrims’ and Early Settlers’ Association at the Caledonian Hall on Saturday afternoon. Mr F. W. Andersen presided. Mr W. H. Evans, son of Mr Richard Evans, one of the three remaining Canterbury pilgrims, gave an address in which he recounted many of his father’s reminiscences. The Avon orchestra played several items, and solos were sung by Mr M. Campbell. AH present joined in the singing of "A'uld Lang Syne."
