The weather forecast for Canterbury issued at 5 p.m. by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, and dealing with the 24 hours following the time of issue, is as follows; — Sea breezes on parts of the coast, but otherwise winds from a westerly quarter .prevailing' and. becoming strong at times. Weather fair to fine, with moderate temperatures. Seas slight to moderate. WEST COAST The forecast for the West Coast is:— Moderate to fresh winds from a westerly quarter. Weather unsettled, with drizzle or ram-, at times, and moderate temperatures. Seas moderate to rather rough. DOMINION The Dominion forecast is:— Falx to fine east of the main ranges and ever the Auckland peninsula, ■ Unsettled in western areas from Taranaki southwards and in the far south, with drizzle or rain at times. Temperatures cool in the south,, otherwise moderate to mild. A depression located in the south Tasman Sea yesterday has now moved to a posL tion some distance south-east of the Scuth Island. An anti-cyclone remains almost stationary to the north. ■ Winds —From between- north-west and south-west prevailing, mainly moderate to fresh, but strong to gale force at times in some exposed positions south of Taranaki and Hawke’s Bay. Seas. New Zealand waters—Rather rough to rough about Cook and Foveaux Straits, and south of Cape Egmonf, slight or moderate elsewhere. Eastern: Tasman Sea—Winds from a .westerly Quarter, moderate in the northern portion, with slight or moderate seas, strong at times in the southern portion, with rough seas.
