SHIRLEY CLUB ELECTION OF OFFICERS Mr J. F. Poulton presided over a good attendance of members at the annual meeting of the Shirley Tennis Club. The election of officers was as follows:—Patron, Mr F. E. Jones; president, Mr F. J. Poulton; vice-presidents, Messrs G, .Finney, P. Gill, H. de R. Flesher, J. Robb, N. A Baggs, and the Hon. B. G. Sullivan; club captain, Mr C. E. W. Edwards; vicecaptain, Mr N, Walsh; women's captain, Mrs J. O’Callaghan; assistant women’s captain. Mrs I. Inglis; secretary, Mr A. M. Hintz; treasurer. Mr T. Howarth; honorary auditor, Mr C, McGillivray; general committee, Messrs T. Mitchell, F. Cowpen M. Hunter, F. Cooper, Mesdames Edwards I. Inglis, Pilkington, and Miss E. Egan. The president reported that seven members had enlisted for overseas service. Messrs J. Dwyjr. E. Murray. F. Askew. J. Woodhouse. B. Frankiand, A. Hearne, and S. M. Tcitjcns. Opening day was fixed for Saturday, September 28.
