GREYMOUTH WOMEN’S ' CHAMPIONSHIP

MRS W. G. M’KAY BEATS MRS J. \V. HANNAN

GREYMOUTH, September 19

In the final of the Greymouth Women’s Golf Club’s championship, Mrs W. G. McKay beat Mrs J. W. Hannan. The game was very even until the seventh hole was reached, when Mrs McKay, who was 1 down at this stage, sank a long putt to square the match. Thereafter Mrs Hannan lost touch with her putter and Mrs McKay won four holes in a row. The twelfth was halved in s’s and the fourteenth, fifteenth, and sixteenth were halved in regulation bogey figures, giving the match to Mrs McKay, 4 up and 3 to play.

Amodeo, who took the flag to the nineteenth hole, returning her second senior card. BANGIORA LADIES’ CLUB A field day for patriotic funds was held by the Rangiora Ladies’ Golf Club yesterday. A postponement of the day affected the attendance, but about £2 was raised. Flag matches were played in the morning, the winners being Miss N. Macdonald (senior) and Mrs A. A. Ryde (junior). Competitions resulted:—Crazy golf. Miss S. Smith: putting, Mrs A. A. Ryde; basket golf, Mrs S. Smith: approaching and putting, Mrs W. Keeiley.
