THEFT CHARGE
♦ WOMAN COMMITTED FOR TRIAL
(x’hess association tei.egkav..) AUCKLAND, September 19. On three charges of theft, allegedly involving a total of £1296, Phyllis Oliver Barnett, aged 31, in the Magistrate's Court to-day was committed for trial in the Supreme Court. Robert Urquhart, a barrister, said that from April last the accused had been keeping his trust accounts under his supervision. As a result of something he heard from the bank, he accused her of falsifying the books. Accused said things were wrong, but she was trying to put them right. Accused pleaded not guilty. Bail in two sureties of £2OO was renewed.
