— * — SOUTH ISLAND TITLES CONTESTED BRILLIANT PLAY IN EARLY ROUNDS Brilliant play was seen at the United Club's pavilion last evening, when the j South Island Table Tennis championships were begun. A large entry, including nearly all the Dominion’s best players, ensured keen competition and a high I stannard of play, and some line matches I should be seen in the seioi-lioals and I linals this evening. 1 The semi-linali.-ls in the men's singles I are A.
