LIMIT OF £IOO,OOO Minister Asked to Review Decision (FEiSS ASfeOCIATIOS tfLE&EAtt.) PALMERSTON NORTH, August 26. A request to the Minister for Finance (the Hoii. W. Nash) to review his decision to limit funds for the aeroplane appeal to £IOO,OOO, is contained in a telegram sent by the Mayor to Mr Nash to-day. It reads: “As the public appreciation of the wonderful services of the Royal Air Force is very strong, its desire tangibly to express the same will substantially exceed £IOO,OOO. In view of this, will you please review yout decision and give yout undertaking that the whole amount raised by the public for the gift aeroplane fund will be sent Home for that specific purpose? Further, I ask that you give this intimation now, before the public starts contri- , butihg.”
