It was reported recently, obviously on authority that was not well informed, that there was a likelihood of scarcity of lime is; the South Island. There is neither a scarcity of lime nor of lim< crushing plants, although the com panics experience difficulty a “rush” periods, or when rai’ trucks are employed in harves j transport, in meeting order; promptly. There are high grade lime deposits, unworked and being worked, at 25 to 30 mile intervals, practically from Blenheim to Southland.
