t ♦ - DEPARTURE FROM FIELD “STRONG DISFAVOUR” OF COMMITTEE The incident in which the Thistle team left the field during the Chatham Cup match with Western on Sai> urday, after the ordering-off of one of the members of the team, was the subject of a long discussion held in camera by the management committee of the Canterbury Football Association last evening. At the close of the meeting thj following statement was issued to the newspapers:— “W. Sutherland, who was ordered off the field, was cautioned by the chairman for the element of dangercup play shown in the match, and was given the benefit of the doubt as to whether he intentionally kicked at an opposing player. “The Thistle Club is to be advised that the committee views with strong disfavour the action of any team leaving the field on any pretext whatever during the progress of a S^ne."
