HOUSE TO RISE TO-DAY

ADJOURNMENT FOR THREE WEEKS [From Our Parliamentary Reporter.] WELLINGTON. July 30. The House of Representatives is to adjourn to-morrow for three weeks, with the provision that if any serious situation arises members are to be called together immediately. This course was outlined by the Prime Minister (the Rt. Hon. P. Fraser) at the conclusion of the business of the House to-night. Mr Fraser said that the only business to be done to-morrow consisted of consideration of two bills introduced to-night, the Insurance Companies Bill and the Rural Housing Amendment Bill, and neither of these was likely to occupy the attention of the Houie for very long. He thought it would suit the convenience of members if the House adjourned to-morrow for three weeks, resuming on August 21. In event of anything serious happening, however, the House could meet again without delay.
