ASHLEY RIVER TRUST. NOTICE OF PROPOSED APPOINTMENT OF THE PROPORTIONS IN WHICH GENERAL RATE AND SPECIAL RATE SHALL BE LEVIED AND OF PROPOSED SPECIAL ORDER DIRECTING SAME TO BE LEVIED. PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY 1 GIVEN that the Ashley River Trust proposes to direct that a General Rate and Special Rate as set out hereunder shall be made and levied over the whole of the rateable lands within the Ashley River Trust District. It is pronosed that the proportions in which such Rates shall be levied and imposed upon the several classes of land and the capital value thereof shall be as follows, namely: Against such of the lands as are classified in Classes “A” and “B” respectively of the Classification List of the Trust in the proportion of 5 to 3; and the Trust will, at the Meeting of the Trust to be held at the Rangiora Borough Council Chambers, situate in Perceval street, Rangiora, on FRIDAY, the 26th day of JULY. 1940. at the hour of 7.30 p.m., consider all Objections in Writing which may have been received by the Trust to such proposed proportions. NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN fnat the Trust proposes by Special Order at the next General Meeting to be held at the place and time aforesaid, to direct that a General and Special Rate as set out hereunder shall be made and levied, for carrying into effect the general purposes of the Trust under “The Ashley River Improvements Act, 1925,” on all rateable property within the Ashley River Trust District, and that such Rates shall be made, levied, and collected on behalf of the Trust by the Borough Council of Rangiora, and the County Councils of Kowai, Ashley, and Rangiora respectively in regard to all such property respectively as is within the Borough of Rangiora and the Counties of Kowai. It is proposed that such Rates shall be levied on the Capital Value of such property and shall be for the period commencing on the Ist day of April, 1940. and ending on the 31st day of March. 1941, and shall be payable in one sum on such date or dates as may be fixed by the local bodies making and levying the same respectively, and shall be as follows; On lands classified in Class “A”— A General Rate of 2-25ths of a penny in the £. A Special Rate of l-25th of a penny in the £. On lands classified in Class “B” A General Rate of 6-125ths of a penny in the £. A Special Rate of 3-125ths of a penny in the £.
