DOUBLE-FEATURE PROGRAMME
Excellent entertainment will be given in the Crystal Palace’s new double-feature programme which begins on Friday. “Double Crime in the Maginot Line” is the first picture, and its story of espionage and _ attempted treachery in fortifications considered impregnable could scarcely be more timely. It is a thrilling film, and one which should capture the public interest. Second attraction will be a comedy full of action, “The Marines Fly High,” starring Chester Morris and Richard Dix.
An interesting double-feature programme is now showing at the Crystal Palace, with a good mixture of excitement and amusement for patrons of all ages. Sandy Powell sings and walks mincingiy, and makes his funny answers to innumerable questions in “All At Sea,” and C. Aubrey Smith plays the part of a gentleman gambler in "City of Chance.” Sandy Powell plays the part of a messenger in the habit of getting the sack from the firms where he is engaged.
CENTURY THEATRE
“Zaza” and “Gun Law” are the two main films on the double-feature programme which is now at the Century Theatre, St. Albans.
REX THEATRE
A splendid double feature programme wil be shown at the Rex Theatre to-night, Thursday, and Friday. Baby Sandy, Mischa • Auer, Dennis O’Keefe, and Shirley Ross, in “Unexpected Father,” and Freddie Bartholomew and Jackie Cooper in “Two Bright Boys.”
LORD GALWAY TO BE PRESENT *
PATRIOTIC CONCERT IN CITY TO-xMORROW EVENING
The Governor-General (Lord Galway) will attend a patriotic concert at the Civic Theatre to-morrow, at 8 p.m., and has been asked to give a short address. The concert is sponsored by the Royal Empire Society, the Victoria League, and the Overseas League. Members have worked hard for the success of the concert, and an excellent programme is assured, The prices are reserved seats 2s each, unreserved Is each.
These three societies are doing their part in the war effort, entertaining soldiers, airmen, and sailors, distributing comforts and parcels, and in many other ways. The public is invited to help by being present at Thursday’s concert.
