AWARUA ARRIVES AT AUCKLAND (PRESS ASSOCIATION .TELEGHAiI.) „ AUCKLAND, June 20. Returning from Sydney the Tasman Empire Airways flying-boat, Awarua, arrived at Auckland shortly after 3 p.m. to-day. The flight was unusually long for the eastward crossing, taking. 9 hours 25 minutes, instead of the normal time of under 8 hours. Strong easterly winds were encountered over the entire journey until the Awarua was just off the west coast of New Zealand. . There were seven passengers. They were: Dr. and Mrs H. Hardwick Smith, of Wellington; Mr N. R. D. Gurney, of Manchester, England; Mr J. R. Rendall, of Auckland; Mr W. N. Satterthwaite. of Dunedin; Mr F.. H. Mclntosh, of Ashburton and Mrs D. M. Beck, of Gore. The Awarua also brought about 5001b of mail, representing approximately 20,'000 letters.
