WEDDING

BENNETT—TUTTON At St. Mary’s Church, Merivale, late yesterday afternoon, the marriage took place of Audrey, only daughter of Mr and Mrs A. J. Tutton. Wai-iti, Swannanoa, and Alexander Millar, eldest son of the late Mr A. E. Bennett and Mrs Bennett, of “Bennetts,” Oxford. Archdeacon A. K. Warren performed the ceremony. • The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a trained frock- of cream satin inset with lace. The back of the long-sleeved bodice was of lace, which was also inset into the trgin, and the full skirt was joined at a high waistline. Her bridal veil of tulle v/as held with a halo of orange blossom and her sheaf bouquet was of 3T6ci roses. The bridesmaids were Misses Rons Little and Amy Dixon. They wore frocks of turquoise-blue, satin embossed in leaf design, made in semiElizabethan style, with high-necked, close-fitting bodices, long sleeves, and full ground-length skirts. Their bouquets were also of red roses. The best man was Mr William Bennett, the bridegroom’s brother, Mr William Diamond, was groomsman, and Messrs Colin Bassett‘and P' Bower were ushers. The wedding reception was held at the Clarendon Hotel. When the bride and bridegroom left later for the wedding trip the former wore a tailored suit of green tweed, lightly striped with blue, and a felt hat to match. Their home will be at Bennetts.
