DERAILMENT ON MAIN TRUNK
TRAFFIC SUSPENDED NEAR WELLINGTON WELLINGTON,, April 23. Because of a main line derailment at Ngahauranga early to-night, railway traffic on the double track-, section between Wellington and JPetone was suspended and all passengers to and from the Hutt Valley were transported by a fleet of railway buses. The return service from Waterloo collided with a number of waggons standing in Ngahauranga yards. Five waggons were derailed and some were damaged. By 9 o’clock, the down line was clear. The work of clearing the up line was still in progress'late tonight. but it was stated that gangs were expected to hgve the track clear for two-way traffic in the early hours of the morning. Freight traffic to and from Wairarapa was.delayed^
