ARMY GAME ON SATURDAY TRENTHAM TO PLAY BURNHAM Something like a full military parade will be held at Lancaster Park on Saturday when the team representing Trentham Camp will meet the team from Bumham Military Camp. Members of the 2nd Echelon will parade and march to the park via Cashel street and Moorhouse avenue, march round the ground on arrival, and take up special seating accommodation. Details of the arrangements for the game, which is expected to attract a very big crowd, were completed by the executive of the Canterbury Rugby Union last evening. Massed bands will play the National Anthem and the Officer Commanding the Southern Command (Colonel E. T. Rowllings) will inspect the teams. The parade is timed to arrive at the park at 2.30 p.m. The proceeds of the game, it was stated, would be devoted to the purchase of sports equipment for the 2nd Echelon. REPRESENTATIVE MATCH TEAM TO VISIT WELLINGTON \ The Canterbury Football Association decided last evening to accept an invitation to send a first-class representative team to play a match against Wellington ai the Basin Reserve on the King’s Birthday holiday, June 3. Mr J. Jones presided It was also decided to extend an invitation to a Wellington team of seniors and boys to play a return match at English Park on June 22. The entry of a team for the senior reserve grade was accepted from the interisland steamer Rangatira. It was decided to invite the Otago Football Association to send a senior representative team to play a match for the Jones Cup. The secretary was instructed to get in touch with Captain Veitch, of the Burnham Military Camp, to try to arrange a match against Western at English Park on Saturday. Mr J. Brown was appointed to fill a vacancy on the committee. Permission was granted the Nomads fourth grade team to arrange a match against a Dunedin club on the King’s birthday holiday.
