OPAWA BAPTIST CHURCH
NEW MANSE OPENED A large number of members and friends of ■. the Opawa Baptist Church met recently for the dedication of the new manse situated in Wilson’s road. Also present were a number of Baptist ministers, including the following: The Revs. E. Enright, A..L. Silcock (Timaru), F. Parry (Greymouth), C. Chant. F. L. Smart, A. Anstice, N. R. Wood, and L. J. Boulton-Smith. Dedicatory prayer was offered by the Rev. C. Chant, after which the builder (Mr S. Harrington) spoke, and presented a suitably inscribed key, with which Mr F. Long formally opened the manse (Mr and Mrs F. Long were the donors of the site). The minister of the church (Pastor J. S. Binnie) spoke in appreciation of the work of church officers and members who ha ’ been responsible for the erection of the manse. , _ __ A The Rev. L. J. Boulton-Smith, Mr A, Jenkins, and the church treasurer (Mr Stan Winder) also-spoke. The Rev. N. R. Wood, president of the Canterbury Baptist Auxiliary, offered the closing prayer. _ . An appropriate solo was given by Mrs G. Pope.
