TAXPAYERS’ STOCK RESERVES
APPLICATIONS REQUIRED BY TO-DAY (TBB9B iSSOCIATTOa riLKOBAM.V WELLINGTON, March 31. Any taxpayers who have created stock reserves which in accordance with the provisions of the 1939 Amendment of the Land and Income Tax Act, have now to be disclosed, may obtain a reopening of their assessments back to 1935. so that the reservee can be brought in from that year onward. To obtain this advantage, taxpayers must telegraph their applications for reopening to the Commissioner of Taxes. Wellington, on April 1, following it up by letter, as the commissioner has no power to deal with applications received after April 1.
