ALLEGED THEFT OF SAFE
[From Our Own Reporter] GREYMOUTH, February 12. Jointly charged with the theft of a safe and contents of a total value of £75 10s, the property of Quinn’s Motors, Ltd., at Hokitika, on February 2 last, Desmond Greaney, aged 19 years, and Colin Smith, aged 27 years, miners, of Greymouth, appeared before Mr G. G. Chisholm, S.M., in the Magistrate’s Court at Greymouth to-day. They were again remanded until Monday next. Greaney was represented by Mr C. R. McGinley and Smith by Mr W. Douglass Taylor. Bail was opposed by Detective-Ser-geant H. E. Knight, but was granted in self for £IOO. with two sureties of £l5O in each case.
