CANTERBURY MEETS WELLINGTON INTERPROVINCIAL MATCH BEGUN WELLINGTON, February 4. The annual Interprovincial women’s cricket match between WeUington and Canterbury for the Hally burton-Johnstone shield began at Wellington College grounds yesterday. Canterbury had first use of the wicket—comparatively easy as a result of the rain—but made only fair headway against the Wellington bowlers. R. Martin, however, showed any amount of confidence in scoring 34. P.. Taylor, M. Marks, and J. Webster, who was upt out, also reached double figures. Wellington had passed the Canterbury total at stumps, with the loss of seven wickets. The match will be continued to-morrow. Details: —
