BIGGER STAFF AND BETTER' FACILITIES A bigger staff and better facilities for seed-testing have been established by the Department of Agriculture at its Seed-Testing Station, according to information from the Director-General of Agriculture (Mr A. H/ Cockayne) received in a letter f to the executive of the North Canterbury district of the New Zealand Farmers' Union. His letter was in reply to a complaint from t the Culverden, branch of the union at delay in the notification of the re- , suits of tests. , Mr said' that there had been no delay in reporting test results since arrears were overtaken about two or there months ago. During the last season, the volume of work handled at the Seed-Testing Station was much greater than bad been anticipated, and delays in reporting on samples un- ', fortunately did occur, but wit)-, the appointment of the additional staff and ' -the? provision of further equipment -'' "which had since been made, it was that there would be any ,*' cause'for''complaint to future.
