SHIPPING NOTES

The Port Waikato, from Wellington and Auckland, is now due here to-morrow. She is to sail for Dunedin and Timaru, and is due back on Wednesday to load for Auckland, Tauranga, and Whangarei. The Karu is to load here on Tuesday 'for Nelson and New Plymouth. The Union Company's steamer Wingatui has been recommissioned at Wellington and was to sail yesterday for Westport. Captain E. R. Lowe is in command. The Wainui, due here on Thursday next from Timaru, is to load for Napier and Gisborne.

SALE OF STEAMER

The Greek steamer Kostis, 5253 jntons, built by Harland and Wolff in 1919? was recently sold to other Greek buyers for £55,000. The Kostis was formerly the British steamer Bathurst, and after lying idle at Barrow from June, 1931, was sold to the present vendor in Augusts 1933, for about £6200.
