PARADE AT WIGRAM
OFFICERS LEAVING STATION INSPECTION BY CHIEF OF AIR STAFF The Chief of the Air Staff, Group Captain H. W. L. Saunders, M.C.. D.F.C., M.M.. made the passing out inspection yesterday afternoon of the 15 officers of No. 8 course at the No. 1 Flying Training School, at the Royal New Zealand Air Force Station at Wigram Aerodrome. The officers will go on embarkation leave from Wigram in a few days, before leaving New Zealand to join the Royal Air Force. They are as follows: Acting Pilot Officers N. H. Andrew, I. H. Auliff. J. A. Kirdy. R. J. A. Leslie, R. S. Magee. A. G. Mclntyre, P. R. McNah. R. J. Neal. W. B. Parker. J. B Paterson. N. Paterson, J. D. Robins, W. Raymond, M. L. Stedman, and B. P. Thomson. Group Captain Saunders, who has recently returned from Canada, arrived in Christchurch yesterday morning by air. accompanied by Souadron Leader E. M. F. Grundy. During the morning he inspected the station. In the afternoon he inspected the parade of officers oassing out. and. after the report on the training work had been read, addressed them. He was accomnanied on the inspection by the Officer Commanding the station Wing Commander G. S. Hodson, A.F.C., R.A.F. Because of the limited time available for Group Captain Saunders’s visit the full programme for the oassing ou. ceremony was not adhered to.
