CAMPAIGN RESULTS 246 ENLISTMENTS IN NINE DAYS The ' stimulus given to recruiting since the campaign was begun on December 22 is shown by the latest figures. For the fortnight ended December 22, 69 registrations were made, the records at offices being:—Christchurcn 60, Ashburton 2, Timaru 7. Nine rer cruiting days later the registrations for the district are 246. Christchurch has contributed 218 men, Ashburton b, and Timaru 19. Seven enlistments for the 2nd Echelon of the Special Force were received at Timaru to-day, bringing the total to 452. The local recruiting officer expressed the hope to-day that since the holiday period was over and normal conditions had returned recruiting would be stimulated, and that those who intended to enlist would do so at once. > To-morrow a medical board will sit to examine 35 men, in addition to a number of others who are coming forward for reclassification.
