FILMING "MAGINOT" ASSAULTS
Nazis Use Old Czech Line
PARIS, November 27. Czech inhabitants of .Sudeten territories were startled by the sound of heavy cannonading recently, according to word received in Paris. Instead of the first World War battle which they thought it was, investigation showed that the Reich authorities were making a propaganda moving picture film. This film was supposed to represent an assault on the Maginot Line and was being staged in the former "Maginot Line" of Czechoslovakia, using the fortifications built under French direction and on the principles used in the construction of France's eastern border. defences. German soldiers wearing French uniforms were seen in the vicinity of the Reich's realistic film production. The "Maginot Line" in Czechoslovakia seemed better adapted to mass assaults than the Maginot Line in France.
