JOINT ACTION TO SINK U-BOAT
BRITISH AIRCRAFT AND FRENCH SLOOP . PARIS, December 29. The newspaper "Le Journal", describes the sinking of "a U-boat by a British coastal aeroplane co-operat-ing with the sloop Commandant Duboc, which earlier had helped the destroyers Sirocco and la Railleuse to sink, another U-boat. It states: The Duboc was escorting a convoy when the seaplane signalled her and dropped smoke shells. The sloop speeded to the scene and dropped depth charges. The U-boat .came to the surface on her beam ends and disappeared in an enormous whirlpool. ;
