BRITISH BATTLESHIP TORPEDOED LONDON December 29 The Admiralty announced this afternoon that a British: battleship had been torpedoed by a. German submarine, but the ship is safe and is pro - ceeding on her course. The battleship is the same as that referred to in a communique issued by the German High Command, which said that a battleship of the Queen Elizabeth cla'ss had been torpedoed' off the west coast of Scotland. There are five battleships of this class—the Queen Elizabeth, Warspite, Barham, Valiant and Malaya. They are each of about 31,000 tons. •Three men were killed..
