The State’s Share The Dunedin Jockey Club’s threeday summer meeting will show a small loss. Hie Government, however, fared well out of the fixture, as the taxation (totalisator, dividend, stakes, and amusement) amounted to £5934. Out of Action The good performer Flood Tide pulled up tender after contesting the Auckland Cup on Tuesday, and it is feared that he lias strained a ligament in one of his forelegs. It is intended to give him a spell for two months before he is trained again. Flood Tide has been unlucky, and his soreness probably explains why he failed to run on better in the Auckland Cup after appearing a likely winner at the home turn. Wapaugh Sold At a sale of thoroughbreds on account of the late Mr M. Steinberg held in Auckland on Wednesday the- three-year-old Wapaugh, trained for some time at Riccarton, was sold for 125 guineas. Konneta was passed in at 435 and Fidelis at 210 guineas. It is interesting to note that after Konneta’s early wins as a two-year-old she could have been sold for 3000 guineas if her owner had been willing to sell her.

A Good Record Heroic, whose destruction was reported last week, won stakes totalling £38,062, and holds fifth place among Australian and New Zealand horses, those above him being- Phar Lap, Amounis, Gloaming, and Limerick. Until Mr A. Cooper made history by paying £19,000 for Talking, the 16,000 guineas given by Mr C. B. Kellow for Heroic was a record for Australia. Winners at Wingatui
