SPORTS FIXTURES FOR TO-DAY
SANDERS CUP TRIALS AT LYTTELTON The senior competition of the Canterbury Cricket Association will begin a new round to-day. At Lancaster Park Oval East Christchurch will meet Riccarton, and, Sydenham will meet Old Boys at Sydenham Park. On Hagley Park St. Albans will meet Old Collegians,- arid' -Lancaster 'Park- will play East -Christchurch. Games in the Suburban' Competition ■ will also be 'continued in all grades. • For bowlers there will be inter-club competitions, ..and for : Wilding Park there is. scheduled a list of club tennis matches. The inter-club athletic meeting will be continued, too, at Rugby Park.
At Lyttelton there will be the Sanders Cup trials, and the trials for the Idlealong championships, and there is also a big programme pf, golf matches.'Women's cricket fixtures will be - continued and a number of swimming clubs will hold contests, the Somerfield Club opening, its new season. ', .
The Ashburton County Racing Club’s meeting will also be an important sporting attraction.
