CALEDONIAN SOCIETY’S SOCIAL

* : There was a large attendance of members and friends at the Caledonian Hall, when the Canterbury Caledonian Society helfi its fortnightly social. Mr C. S. Thomas was in the chair and with him on the platform were Messrs George Sey and F. O. Neate (directors). The programme, arranged by Messrs I. Fraser, D. Malloch, and A. E. Purse, comprised the following items: —Selections, society’s pipe band; song, Mr B. Wilson; sword dance. Miss Eva McVey; Scottish characters in song and story, the Caledonian Players; tap dance, Mr W. Shaw; song. Miss Joy Durham; Highland fling, 1939 pupils; play, “Maggie’s Love Affair,” the Caledonian Players. . , ~ The society’s official accompanist, Mr G. C. Russell, was at the piano and Mr George Bradford’s orchestra played the music for dancing.
