ROWING
REPORT OF CANTERBURY ASSOCIATION • The revival of the Lyttelton regatta by the Canterbury Yacht and ' Motor-Boat Club was the principal feature of the season, states the annual report of the Canv terbury Rowing Association. The executive hoped that this regatta would again become an annual fixture. The formation of a regatta club at Redcliffs was welcomed, and the' association wished.it every success; Regattas during the season were held at Akaroa, Lyttelton, Stewart’s Gully. Lake Forsyth, and Kaianoi. Good weather attended these and all were highly successful.
Thanks to the excellent work of the Christchurch Drainage Board and the assistance afforded by the weir, the rowing course was in good order. A sub-com-mittee met the members of the Waimalri County Council at Burwood and showed how a good course could be made out of Kerr’s reach by pulling out willow trees and straightening the banks. The council was very sympathetic and agreed to approach the Mayor of Christchurch and ask him to call a meeting of bodies interested to consider the matter. This meeting had not yet been called. The finances of the association were in a sound position, the balance at the bank being £l3 5s Id. CANTERBURY CLUB f The Canterbury Rowing Club held its annual meeting with Mr C. H.
