MARKETS* CONTINUE QUIET PRICES GENERALLY MAINTAINED Share markets continued quiet on call yesterday, but prices generally were well maintained. Bank of New Zealand were firm with sellers and dealings at 39s 9d, buyers at 39s 7d. Goldsbrough, Mort remained unaltered with buyers at 275, sellers at 28s.

Sellers of New Zealand Refrigerating fully paid reduced their limits to 16s, buyers at 15s 2d. An odd parcel of New Zealand Breweries changed hands at 365, and further buyers at that figure failed to attract sellers. Buyers of Australian Consolidated Industries advanced to 36s 9d, but sellers were reticent. _ British Tobacco were firmer with business at 51s, and further buyers at 50s failed to attract sellers. * Broken Hill Proprietary were fractionally weaker with dealings at 74s 3d, 74s 5d and 74s 6d, buyers staying in at the highest figure, sellers at 74s 9d. Donaghy Rope were firm with sellers and business at 48s 6d,' buyers at 48s. Whitcombe and Tombs were firmer at 60s, closing quotations 59s 6d buyers, 61s sellers. Woolworths, Ltd. (cum dividend) advanced to dealings at 25s 3d, 25s 6d and 265, with further buyers at the highest figure, sellers at 26s 3d. Woolworths (New Zealand), Ltd., were easier with business at 16s lOd, market closing 17s buyers, 17s 9d sellers.
