TELEPHONE SERVICE Mr T. H. McCombs, M.P., has been advised by the Postmaster-General, the Hon. F. Jones, that it was. anticipated that the installation of the equipment in the new automatic telephone exchange at Mount Pleasant would be completed in three months. The exchange is to serve Heathcote, Redcliffs, Sumner, and Lyttelton. Yacht Club Meeting was a very large attendance i at the annual meeting of the Canterbury Yacht and Motor-Boat Club which was held in the Oddfellows’ i Hall last night. Mr E. Coombes presided. ' The annual report stated that racing during the year had-been keen and a crew from the club had bdea successful in winning the Sanders Cup for Canterbury. The membership at the close of the season stood at 311. The treasurer’s report stated that the club had begun the year with an overdraft of £55 7s sd, and had finished with a credit balance of £4 16s 7d. Arrears of subscriptions amounting to ,£46 7s 6d had been written off. , , The following officers were elected:— President, Mr W. T.‘ Lester; vice-pre-sidents, Messrs F. E. Sutton, W. R. Newton, W.
