MAGISTRATE’S COURT

TUESDAY (Before Mr E. C. Levvey, S.M.) REMANDED r Stewart Arthur Emmett (Mr K. A. Gough) was remanded to August. 28 on a charge of converting to . his own use, a motor-car valued at £7o>the.property of Malcolm James Kavanagh. He was admitted to bail in his ovm. recognisance of £2OO, and one ; surety of £2OO, and was ordered to report daily to the police. A woman charged with obtaining £1 15s lid from a city-firm by'false tence was remanded till ‘ August 28. She was admitted to hail in her own recognisance of £2OO, and one surpty of £2OO. J ' The name was suppressed on the application of Mr N. S. Bowie. Referring to applications for suppression of names when a remand was granted, the Magistrate indicated that the Court did not favour this practice and that it might have to be stopped completely.
