MILITARY MANOEUVRES IN GERMANY

BERLIN, August 21,
It is announced that the whole of the Cologne and Ruhr districts will have a 36-hour exercise in airraid precautions, beginning at dusk to-day. The big military manoeuvres in Germany are ‘ dislocating every day the life of nearly 1,000,000 German women who are grass-widows because their husbands have been called up. Many have taken over their husbands’ jobs or carry on their businesses.
