A resolution of sympathy with the Prime Minister (the Rt, Hon. M. J. Savage) in his illness was adopted at a meeting of the Christchurch City Council last evening. Messrs C. D. Marks and G. P. Kellar, traffic inspectors on the staff of the Christchurch City Council, have been rppointed to the new positions of senior patrol officers. Mr S. J. Wearn will leave this morning for Dunedin.
- Dr. R. D. N. Bissett, lately of Christchurch Hospital staff, passed the examinations for M.R.C.S. and L.R.C.P., held in London last month.
Australia’s delegate to the Mandates Commission at Geneva three months ago, Mr J. R. Halligan, was a through passenger in the Monowai, which arrived at Auckland yesterday. He reported to the commission on conditions at New Guinea and' Nauru Island, Mr Frank Thompson, who has 1 been in Lewisham Hospital during the last fortnight, returned to his home during the week-end. Messrs Richard 'Ernest Waghorn, Robert James Bailey, Victor Craw, Samuel Gilbert, Colvin James Wilfred Marshall, Ralph Noel Waghorn, . and Robert Herriot have been appointed by the Governor-General to be the Little Akaloa Domain Board.
