VACANCIES IN THE ROYAL NEW ZEALAND AIR FORGE Men with previous experience are required to fill the following vacancies in September : 100 FLIGHT MECHANICS AND FLIGHT RIGGERS-# To have general knowledge of the use of hand tools and workshop practice. Technical instruction is an advantage. 3 MACHINE TOOL SETTERS AND OPERATORS— Experienced in fitting and turning. 6 CARPENTERS— Applicants required to have knowledge of use of tools and cabinetmaking and joining. 6 MEDICAL ORDERLlES—Experience of first aid. 30 CLERKS (General Duties)— Applicants to have good education and knowledge of typing, office procedure and routine. Knowledge of shorthand is an advantage. 10 CLERKS —(Accounting), 35 EQUIPMENT ASSISTANTS —-Applicants to be of good education and required to have knowledge of ledger keeping, also stores experience. Within the next year 500 Flight Mechanics and Riggers will be enlisted in batches of 50 or 100, and will be posted to Air Force Stations for training. A large number of recruits,in other trades will also be enlisted during the next 12 months. Initial period of service will be for 8 years Regular and 4 years Reserve. Applicants must be : (1) Single. (2) Between the ages of 18 and 25 years. (3) Passed the Sixth Standard. (4) Able to pass the necessary medical examination. (5) To have some trade experience.
