HOSPITAL BENEFITS
APPLICATION TO TWO INSTITUTIONS (PBKSB ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) WELLINGTON, July 20. The Minister for Health (the Hon. P. Fraser) announced to-day that, in accordance with a recent decision of the Government, the treatment of inpatients at the Queen Mary Hospital, Hanmer, which is administered by the Health Department, and at the Rotorua Sanatorium,- which is administered by the Tourist Department, have now been made the subject of hospital benefits in respect of treatment afforded in these institutions on and after July 1 by a reduction of the ordinary scale of charges by 6s a day, the same amount as is paid to public and private hospitals under the hospital benefits provisions. Payment at this rate is to be made from the social security fund to the departments administering these institutions.
