DESIRE TO LIVE IN NEW ZEALAND
♦- YOUNG HUNGARIANS WRITE TO CHRISTCHURCH A sheaf of letters from Budapest, the capital of Hungary, has arrived at the office of the Canterbury Chamber^ of Commerce. They have come from skilled joiners, masons. ®“ glI V; who apparently saw published in a ‘Sn in Th^ ia immigration and committee of the chamber submitted a report last May recommending that immigrants from' European States, i addition to those fronr Britain and Scandinavian countries, be brought to New Zealand. It appears that this report reached Budapest. Consequently letters have kapn arriving by sir mail from young Hungarian workers, who are obviously extremely anxious to take advantage of any opportunity to come to New Zealand. Their own statements and the testimonials they enclose _ indicate that they are all skilled in their f ra^C s ; : One furniture, trade expert says that he would like to bring to New Zealand five to 10 specialists in his trade. most of the others, he has appealed for an urgent air-mail reply.
